Dear BMM Members
I am making a strategy booklet for K-G5 that covers strategies used for all 4 operations. If possible I am trying to present them as a progression to show how one can link to another and build on understanding. I am also trying to demonstrate that students understanding develops at different times and it is not a ‘must know’ by the end of a grade, but rather a way that parents can understand how they are being taught in school so they can also support at home.
I am wondering if anyone has anything similar that they would be willing to share? I have watched and know about the Graham Fletcher videos but I can’t seem to find anything else to compare and contrast.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you
Catherine.

Catherine, sorry this slipped through the cracks and I’m just now getting to it. Love Graham’s videos. I have a few videos about the strategies, they aren’t as short as Graham’s 😉 . This one is about the 5 addition strategies https://www.therecoveringtraditionalist.com/5-types-addition-strategies/ and this is the 6 subtraction strategies https://www.therecoveringtraditionalist.com/types-subtraction-strategies/
Below each of those videos are links to other videos where I show what those strategies look like as kids use them to help solve problems involving Elapsed Time, Money, and Measurement.
Hope those help.
