Tasks: Intervention Games

In this month’s webinar we talk about the 3 types of tasks that we recommend you do in an intervention. One of them is Games, but the problem with games is the time it takes to teach kids the rules of all the games.  So, I prefer to use Evergreen Games.

I’ve talked about Evergreen games before but a common question I get is “So, how exactly to do you do ____(insert game name here)_____?”  In this video I show you exactly how to play each of the five evergreen games.  If you don’t already have the general examples of the Evergreen Games, here is the link to the Google Drive document that you can make a copy of and edit to make it content you are working on:  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1uNuBgwfcyfa0l-BhxUtLDWlZZl4HUEUY5G6LPebTTWQ/edit?usp=sharing

Hi Christina! I have all of your Evergreen games saved, but can’t find the memory cards that are ten frames to reckenrek cards. Can you point me to which file I should search for those in?

    Thanks for all you do!

      Nevermind… Found them! Thanks!

Hi Christina, I am a math interventionist K-5th grade. I am using these games with each of my intervention groups to gain experience first hand with all the ways they can be modified. Then I will share them with the classroom teachers in my building! Thank you!

Yay! Thank you so much for sharing them with your staff. The more teachers who can use them, the better!

    Hi Christina,
I am using many of the evergreen games with my kindergarten students and have been sharing them with other teachers at my school. Your number sense course made so much sense and I am currently in the middle of your 8 module course on number sense. I am finding my kindys are starting to become familiar with number talks and they look forward to our ‘talk’ whenever we start math. Thank you!

I’ve been using some Evergreen games, especially BUMP. Is there a way I an upload and share my “gameboards?”

I love the name ‘Ever Green’ you have given these games!
